TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm a certified TEFL teacher from Canada with over 6 years of experience teaching English to adults from all over the globe.

I've taught student groups at language institutes and held one-on-one lessons.

Generally, I prefer teaching one-on-one classes online as it allows me to focus on one student at a time giving them my full attention while allowing them the space to ask questions without feeling self-conscious.

Lessons with me are varied, but in all of them, I ensure there is plenty of time for conversation and to learn something new. Classes with me are informal yet professional, where students feel comfortable and safe talking and expressing themselves. 

I tailor lessons to suit each student's needs and work with them on areas they need help with. For some, it might be grammar, to begin with until they have a good understanding of it before moving on to another area to help them improve; for others, it might be vocabulary or comprehension.

I will explain things as simply as possible until students understand the concepts being taught. 

Hi there! I'm Adeline, a Simon Fraser University graduate from Vancouver, B.C. Canada and a certified TEFL tutor passionate about helping others achieve their language learning and life goals.

Having travelled quite a bit, I'm fascinated by different cultures and traditions, and I enjoy engaging in conversations on a wide range of topics.

I also speak Spanish, so I understand firsthand the challenges of learning a new language. I strive to create a friendly and patient learning environment, and I'm known for my ability to explain concepts clearly.

I'm also a public speaker and life consultant/coach. My husband, our two dogs, and I currently live in the Dominican Republic.
